Signing up for Constant Contact is fairly easy, getting it configured is a little more time consuming. You really should give yourself a hour or two of uninterrupted time to do it correctly. They do have a free 60 day trial, however if you are going to upload more than 50 email addresses you are going to give up the free trial period. I’d advise uploading a few test emails to while in set-up mode first.

It’s easy to get a hold of them over the phone for help with their program, and an entire section of their website includes a truckload of support materials. Vertical Response provides very easy to understand, step-by-step videos on their website detailing how to do everything from setting up your email list to designing your email templates. They even provide frequent live webinars that you can join and ask questions in real time, and most of their webinars are archived in the support section of their website.

Once you sign up and get your account running, you can have your first email campaign ready in 15 minutes or less. Mail Chimp also offers designer and developers the ability to easily customize their campaigns to the style they want. IAs I mentioned before, Mail Chimp had all the features I wanted for my design business. It allowed me to easily add new customers to the mailing list, create html and text based emails, and it even gave me some super pretty stats pages.

One of Benchmark Email’s strong points is the excellent tracking features it offers, even for those on the lower priced plans. Integration with Google Analytics is very easy, and all data can be easily exported for use in other programs such as Excel.
